The Child Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC) is the UK’s leading membership organisation that collects and uses evidence to improve children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing. Founded in 2002 by a group of mental health professionals determined to understand the impact of their work, today our members include mental health service providers, schools, professional bodies and research institutions from across Europe and beyond.

We hold data relating to mental health and wellbeing outcomes of more than 400,000 children and young people in the UK, representing the largest data set of this kind worldwide.

CORC’s vision is for all children and young people’s wellbeing support to be informed by real-world evidence so that every child thrives.

Our mission is to promote the meaningful use of evidence to enable more effective child-centred support, services and systems to improve children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Our values define the way we do things at CORC. We are honest, curious, challenging and respectful:

  • Honest – we act with integrity, we communicate responsibly, we are ethical.

  • Curious – we have a thirst for knowledge, we share learning and learn from others, we advance understanding.

  • Challenging – we stand up for what we believe in, we take action, we inspire reflection.

  • Respectful – we listen to others, we’re compassionate, we place children and young people at the heart of what we do.

In January 2021, CORC announced its planned merger with the Anna Freud Centre. For more information, please read our latest news piece here.
