The CORC Advisory Group formed at the end of 2022.  Our Advisory Group members have committed to sharing their knowledge, expertise and experience to inform, influence and steer CORC’s work - and to help us better achieve our vision, that evidence is used to improve support for children and young people’s mental health.

The group includes a mixture of:

  • parents and carers with lived experience of navigating mental health support and resources available to support children and young people

  • young people(aged 18 to 25 years) with lived experience of mental health challenges or an interest in emotional wellbeing

  • professionals working in mental health, wellbeing, or education (spanning frontline work, management, commissioning, policymaking and researchers / academics)

CORC advises Government, large organisations, small organisations and individuals; we are involved in large-scale research and innovative service developments; we publish both peer-reviewed research and accessible guidance and events for the sector. A project of the Anna Freud Centre, we are dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, and feel passionately in helping everyone working in mental health to actively think about the impact of what they do. We want measurement, evaluation, research and feedback to reach everyone who can use it.

Our aim in bringing together an Advisory Group - and drawing on their perspectives, knowledge, and experience - is for CORC’s activities to be:

  • informed by the lived experience of those it seeks to support

  • effective in achieving our vision

  • complement other work to improve support for children, young people and families

We are extremely appreciative of the support and insight that people who have joined the Group are offering.  We meet formally three times a year, and these meetings are interspersed with other sessions where members come together for learning, sharing and networking.

You can find out more about what the Advisory Group do from this Role Description here. We will be refreshing the Group’s membership annually so please do keep an eye on our newsletter or twitter feed if you are interested in getting involved in future.
